Underwriter was not on top of things, asking for new documents at the 11th hour. I had to twice take off work to satisfy their requests, in order to not delay closing further. Both times came after we were supposed to only be waiting on a CD from another home sale. I would have expected a quicker closing after starting the pre-approval process early. Between lost wages and additional costs incurred by a delayed closing, underwriting cost me about $1800 over a 10 day period. I'm not happy about that.
