I have been banking with Frist Horizon Bank since 1969 through every name change and several mortgages. Of course, when we decided to find the perfect retirement home, we were determined to apply with First Horizon for what we hoped would be our last mortgage. We had never had an unpleasant experience at First Horizon, but I don't think we were expecting the kind we had with Ryan Goode. I am the detailed, paperwork person in our family; and from the first meeting with Ryan, I had all the current information I needed and basically knew what to expect and what my obligations would be both immediately and at a later time. I appreciated very much the knowledge Ryan had for the mortgage process which I felt would allow us to make very informed decisions. As time went on from September, 2024 until April, 2025, it proved to be true. I think what I liked most about Ryan's approach to working with a client is that there was always a "heads up" communication before something arrived in my mailbox. I knew ahead of time to be ready to process a document so that a deadline would not be missed, and I was so glad to have the reminder. There were no surprises whatsoever in this mortgage journey, and I credit Ryan with making sure none would occur. Another thing which made the past five weeks go by without an issue is that Ryan was encouraging, always making me feel comfident in what I was doing. He answered really dumb questions with such kindness and confirmation, I was never embarrassed at some of the mistakes I was going to make. He was a very great help to me in obtaining documents and sending them to the correct places which can be hard at times. I do not believe I could have finished every task without his support. As we worked together, Ryan supported me through every offer we made on three homes with the application changing every time. He gave honest answers with questions I had about properties, how to find home inspectors, what to consider about interest rates and was happy to do the work it took on his part for us to have purchased a home. He was engaged with both the business and the people involved in this mortgage. It was his intent not to allow us to get to a place where we might lose a home at the last step or perhaps find ourselves broken hearted. He protected our pocketbooks and our hearts, and I don't think he works deliberately in that way. It's just who he is as an ethical, caring, prepared professional; and I honestly do not believe my luck in being able to work with Ryan. In all of my business endeavors, especially mortgages, I have never had such a smooth, seamless, enjoyable experience as I have with this purchase. The work I was able to do with Ryan's help made me even proud of myself! Today, we own a piece of property which is more than we ever expected to achieve; and we could not be happier. There is something else special I need to add. Any time I mentioned Ryan's name at the local branch of First Horizon Bank, someone would say how much they enjoyed working with him and then we would all sing his praises. Why? I think it is because he makes sure everyone is treated with respect, and he makes sure all questions are answered. He is kind, courteous and extremely helpful and never leaves a conversation or a meeting which isn't finished by his standards. His name was mentioned at the closing session, and our contact person at the title company said how much she liked working with Ryan. At that point, our realtor expressed the same. With this kind of reputation, the sky must be the limit for this banker. I want to thank him, the bank and anyone who has been responsible for the pleasant, successful experience we have had. My husband asked several times why I wasn't stressed, irritable or anxious like I usually am when I'm working with finances. I kept saying I was doing fine, and I was always able to answer or explain things to my husband because of Ryan's tutorials. What a relief it was not to have the stress of apprehension and pressure. It probably looks as though I am trying to go overboard with this survey, but I feel strongly the organization which Ryan represents should know what a great job he did for us and I am sure for many others as well. He is invaluable in the world of mortgages, and I'm confident the same is true in anything else he wants to accomplish. I could say much more, but I am beginning to repeat myself because the same words continue to come to mind....involved, professional, ethical, honest, kind, helpful, encouraging and many more. What a gift it was to get to know Ryan and have his expertise at our side for all the long months of emotional roller coaster of excitement, surprise, disappointment and joy dealing with realtors, sellers and all the rest! I would actually do it again next week....well maybe next month. Thank you again for everything.

Even though I was on the loan applicatio. The only thing i I ever received from Ryan was emai. I called several lenders before beginning our loan pre-approval process and was all but dismissed by the others, since we weren’t beginning our home search immediately. Ryan, however, took the time to explain the whole process and what our timeline would look like, and seemed eager to serve as our lender. It was an easy decision to go with First Horizon, knowing Ryan would be handling our file. We ran into several hurdles in purchasing this home - many more than we had encountered with our prior two purchases - and every time, Ryan called me to explain the issue and our options, and then sent a follow-up email to put his verbal communication in writing. I never felt out of the loop, and I also was never made to feel a nuisance by my frequent questions and requests for clarification. Ryan has a pleasant voice and demeanor - he was always a pleasure to talk to.
