GGerald B. F.Granite Falls - NCPosted on 2025-03-05T09:59:53.000Z5.0 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★forRodney ReevesWhen we were pre approved we were told we were approved for 1 type of loan and was advised that I would qualify for a grant as well since I'm in Healthcare. 3 weeks into the process and already had a sales contact written we were told we made too much money for the 1 loan type and for the grant, so we had to change our loan type, Come up with more money and change the sales agreement again. We ended up having to submit document after document after document. It was like jumping through hoops. So we finally get the sales contract and all the paperwork finished 2 weeks before closing. We don't hear a word from anyone til almost end of day Friday (when businesses shut down early), 3 business days before closing that they are having problems finding the easement for our property. The title company closed at 2pm so I couldn't reach out to them. I called our County's register of deeds and she walked me through step by step on how to access the easement as well as where to locate the Platt info through the current deed. My husband emailed Danielle WATTS ( our loan processor) and Rod (he was out sick with the flu which is very understandable) the exact step by step instructions on how to get there and what numbers to use. Well apparently Danielle never looked at them and kept saying there's no easement agreement. Our title company even come down to saying to us that if they keep pushing back we may have to go to another lender as she provided them with all of the information they needed as well and she was still getting push back. 1 day before closing I went and dug through all of the past register of deeds and copied/screenshot all of the verbiage that was used in prior deeds and documents and they said it could take 24 hrs to hear back from legal team. Initial day of closing, I called Rod on my lunch, he told me that Danielle and the legal team are saying the easement wasn't documented in the court system. I said yes it is. I explained that I called the register of deeds and the woman walked me through how to get to it. I then explained over the phone to Rod on how to get to it. He's like well this is what we needed the whole time and screenshot the information including the web address and sent it to his manager, Danielle, her manager, and the title company. He's like if we had this last week we could've closed then. I explained to Rod that Danielle had the step by step instructions for the last 6 days, but didn't bother to even look at it. So initial day of closing we get the green light at 4pm that we can dry close as the title company closed at 5 and my husband and I would go back Friday morning to provide the check and finish any other paperwork. Us and the sellers race to the attorneys office only to sit there til 5:15pm for them to tell us that they never received the closing package and they said they could squeeze us in the next morning as long as they got the closing package. We were told by the attorneys office to call in the next morning and we can be squeezed in. We call next morning and they still hadn't received the package. I called Danielle who said that it's out of her hands. I told her that it needed to be taken care of that day as we couldn't push closing any longer as my husband's boss worked around our closing and they were going to be out of town for work the following week. They got it completed in 20 minutes and we closed the day after the initial closing. It was literally a nightmare. The back and forth. Rod was nothing but phenomenal and amazing through the entire process. He was supportive, informative, was the client's advocate and went above and beyond to ensure we got our loan approved and closed on our home. It was Danielle Watts and the legal team and whoever else was in the middle was the nightmare to work with. Danielle would never answer her phone and when leaving voicemails she would never call back. We called her regarding a question on the document she sent us, she said oh it's past 5pm I can't help call me during business hrs. Our closing attorney had similar situations, we both got well it's out of my hands I can't or won't help you. We also felt like we were the ones doing their job. I was the one that called the register of deeds. Danielle slammed the title company, but the title company had showed me where she explained and sent it and she wasn't accepting it. How hard is it to call the register of deeds. I'm the one that went in and found the wording on previous deeds which is the exact wording they ended up putting on our deed. How hard was it again to get that information. Everything was public records. If Danielle would've read the email from us and listened to the title company, I don't think this wouldve been such a terrible closing experience. Danielle made us feel like she couldn't be bothered with anything and that she couldn't take the blame or responsibility to fix it or own up to that it was on her instead of pushing it off onto someone else.AAmy J. Just communicating with us. We are older but with the help of Mr Rod and our grandson we would be able to be kept informed what was going on with our loan .Your facility have people who really care and take their time to help and listen to what you need. Mrs Rachel and Mr Rodney are two of your people that you should be very proud of them and want to have more just like these two. When I called Mrs Rachel about a matter , she didn't seem to mind.. she took her time and talked to me and set my mind at ease and said she would let Mr Rod know about a call I had received thinking someone was trying to get information that wasn't authorized to.. She said she would take care of the matter and she did. Just to say this about both of these employees Actions speak louder than words .They did what they said and more. Thank you! Thank You!!! We have been with this (our) bank for over 30 years and glad to be because of the service we have always had and know will have in the future because we feel that you all like our family. Many of your tellers Taylor always asks about our family and anything else the bank can do for us. Concord Title that you work with even answered any questions we had.An Awesome lot of GREAT PEOPLE.!!!Thank You again!! The work he did was just outstanding. I would send in the paperwork when I got home after work. And would not expect a reply until the next day being after hr. If nothing else he would alway send something so that we know that he received the paperwork. Just so outstanding work it’s really hard to say. The whole process was just easy. Rod was able to work the loan with a limited time that the sales gave. From the start of it he told everyone that the deadline was short and that the people would need a few extra days. But he was able to get the loan done with the time the seller gave. I know that most companies look for the for the good and the bad with surveys and if I had a few words that could be improved I would happy put it in this one. But to completely honest I don’t really have anything bad to say. The complete process was for the most part easy. The wife’s stress level that’s a different story LOL😜. We are completely happy and so very thankful for FHB bank and Rod’s help. If we ever need to do this again he is the person we will call. But to be completely honest. I hope we never have to. Thank you to all the people at FHB from the folks at my local bank that help me start all the paperwork to Rod that was with us all the way to the end.JJulian H.Clemmons - NCPosted on 2024-05-03T11:23:42.000Z5.0 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★forRodney ReevesI appreciate the transparency with the mortgage process. - AArthur G. S.Knoxville - TNPosted on 2024-05-29T13:20:04.000Z5.0forRodney ReevesRod made the experience great. My wife and myself had a terrible time with a different bank and finally decided to see Rod and that was the best decision we have ever made. He single-handedly saved us from losing our house by working quickly and efficiently with all parties to ensure we only delayed closing by a few weeks instead of losing the house. We couldn’t have done it without him and I have already begun recommending Rod Reeves to anyone who will listen. He is an asset to First Horizon and an incredible person.
- BBeverly B.Knoxville - TNPosted on 2024-05-27T15:50:59.000Z5.0forRodney ReevesKeeping us in the loop knowing what was going on. May God bless you all in what you do to make other people's lives a lot easier to be in.
- CCharles E. W.Jamestown - NCPosted on 2024-05-09T02:06:14.000Z5.0forRodney ReevesRodney was great. Thank you to all the people at FHB from the folks at my local bank that help me start all the paperwork to Rod that was with us all the way to the end.

As we started the process to buy the home we got, it was like Rod put us at the top of his list regardless of the surrounding issues that popped up. Not only was he professional in every way, but we became friends in the process! He is officially the first friend we've made in TN. Thank you too Rod and his team for an excellent job!
