Better communication - especially regarding closing and the amount of time required to fund the loan. We were told by the notary that the loan could be funded in 72 hours- which would have been 2:30 on Friday, but it didn’t actually fund until Tuesday. The title company sent the house payoff to our account- making us get involved in paying off the mortgage- should have wired funds directly. Payments that were to go to pay off debt were also sent to us to deal with. Would have been much easier if the payoff amounts would have been wired to us and payments could have been made instantly online (proof of payments could have been provided) but instead, we had to pay more than $200 to send the payments 2-day to avoid extra interest charges. This is not the first refi we have done- but it definitely was the messiest. We are glad it’s over.
